Are you a CPA or EA with a minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate and partnership tax and accounting? Are you tired of working countless hours of overtime during tax season? As a brief introduction, our firm was formed in 2008. We currently have 11 employees: 9 full time, 2 part time. The firm’s focus is on businesses and their owners. Our main roles include:

  • Serving as the accounting department for our clients

  • Serving as oversight for clients who have in-house accounting

  • Serving as CFO

  • Providing business advisory and coaching services to assist our clients in exceeding their goals.

  • Developing and implementing tax strategies

While we perform compliance work, it is not why businesses hire us. As such the firm does not have a typical tax season in that 85% of the tax returns we prepare are for clients that we serve as their accounting department. Everything needed for tax prep is at hand and has been planned for, with the client, throughout the year(s). This makes tax season much less demanding, surprise free and overtime is minimal as compared to a traditional CPA firm.

We are growing and have a substantial waiting list of clients to be onboarded. The waiting list is dependent upon building our team. The greatest need at hand is for an experienced accounting professional with a substantial tax background. This person would serve as a Team Lead and Tax Manager (responsibilities are listed below). For the right person(s) there is significant opportunity for growth within the firm.

Responsibilities include:

  • Tax preparation

  • Tax planning - develop and implement strategies

  • Tax projections

  • Handling communication from clients and tax authorities.

  • Verifying tax forms for completeness and accuracy.

  • Securing repeat business and expanding the client base.

  • Analyzing tax data submitted by the client to maximize the outcome for the client.

  • Meet with clients and address their questions and concerns regarding tax forms and paperwork.

  • Basis tracking

  • Operating agreement compliance including reporting requirement deadlines, tax items, waterfall, pref calculations and accruals.

  • OZ requirements, monitoring and certifications

  • Consolidated reports

  • Oversight of your bookkeeping and accounting team to insure complete, accurate and timely work.

  • Maintain your expertise and skills through training as well as develop and implement a training schedule for your team (routine and as needed).

  • Conduct weekly 1 on 1s with each team member

  • Identify and mentor team members to become a team lead

  • Present financial reports and analysis to the senior client manager and the client.

  • Strong understanding of KPIs and the ability to teach and interpret their meaning and use.

  • Communicate effectively with clients and your team.

  • Contribute to a strong client relationship through positive interactions with client personnel.

  • Provide input into the department's goal-setting process.

  • Communicate with Manager and/or Director on work status and client issues that arise.

  • Remain knowledgeable and up to date on all happenings with each client serviced by your team.
